Donor research is a way to find out more information about a donor - usually a major donor - to determine if this donor can give more (sometimes much more) to your nonprofit and new pathways to connect with this person to enable a successful outcome.
A donor profile is a final summary document about a donor's capability to give to your nonprofit that can be used when contacting and meeting the donor. This document should be detailed but brief (usually 1-2 pages for most donors).
